DESCRIPTION:Join us for Kari’s Joy Jammers by Heart of the Child Music Education from 10:30-11:30am on Friday mornings at The Floyd Country Store. \nThis class is a joyful\, interactive group musical experience for children and their caregivers at The Floyd Country Store. These FUN and developmentally appropriate classes are produced by Kari Kovick and Heart of the Child Music Education and foster a love of music while building foundational musical skills\, safe connection\, secure attachment\, and healthy community. \nJoy Jammers is aimed toward children ages 0 to 6. \nDates are subject to cancellation or change pending teacher availability\, inclement weather\, illness\, etc. Individual classes are $15 per child for drop in. Five-class passes are available for $60\, or 10 for $120 (or $12 per class). Additional siblings are half price. \nContact us to purchase a prepaid pass\, book a session using a prepaid pass\, or to enroll/register multiple siblings. DESCRIPTION:Come sing with us! \nShape note is an American tradition of unaccompanied harmony singing with roots that stretch back into the Colonial period. It takes its name from the musical notation system to aid in sight-singing where notes are written on the page with different shapes\, each corresponding to the degree of the scale. There are no concerts — we sing for the fun of singing! \nTunebooks we sing from are The Sacred Harp (1991/2025 Denson edition)\, The Shenandoah Harmony\, and The Valley Pocket Harmonist. Loaner books are available. All are welcome! No experience with sheet music or singing necessary!
