DESCRIPTION:4th Annual Floyd Living Traditions Festival \nSaturday\, August 22\, 2026 | 10 AM–5 PM\nFloyd Center for the Arts\n220 Parkway Lane South\, Floyd\, VA 24091 \nFree Admission | Family-Friendly | Rain or Shine \nJoin the Floyd Center for the Arts for the 4th Annual Floyd Living Traditions Festival\, a free\, all-day celebration of Floyd County’s rich artistic and cultural heritage. \nPresented in partnership with the Floyd Country Store’s Handmade Music School\, the festival brings together artists\, musicians\, tradition bearers\, and community organizations for a day filled with live music and dance\, traditional craft demonstrations\, hands-on activities\, exhibitions\, artisan vendors\, local food\, workshops\, and interactive experiences for all ages. \nVisitors will experience the living traditions that make Floyd unique\, from blacksmithing\, quilting\, woodworking\, fiber arts\, and pottery to old-time music\, storytelling\, and Appalachian dance. DESCRIPTION:Are you brave enough to beat the heat? We invite heat-lovers and thrill-seekers alike to test their palates against our most potent peppers. Grab your friends\, line up at the spice bar\, and see who can handle the progression from Jalapeño and Cayenne up through Habanero\, Ghost Pepper\, and the fiery Carolina Reaper. It’s a fast-paced\, sweat-inducing\, unforgettable flavor experience. \nThe Heat Progression Lineup:\n1. Jalapeño – The crisp\, green kickoff.\n2. Cayenne – A sharp\, classic culinary kick. (Wait for 1 minute)\n3. Habanero – Fruity undertones backed by serious sting. (Wait for 1 minute)\n4. Ghost Pepper – A slow-building\, smoky inferno. (Wait for 1 minute)\n5. Carolina Reaper – The final boss. Blistering\, record-breaking heat. (Wait for 3 minutes) \nHow does it work?\nWe will prepare 5 pieces of sour dough bread\, dipped in gourmet olive oil and coated with the chili powder. \nYou will need to read and sign the waiver/rules of the challenge (NO wiping eyes\, NO drinking between levels\, NO spitting.) \nWe will time you between bites and supply you with milk when it’s all over! \nYour Reward:\n1. Bragging rights!\n2. Receive an “I Beat the Heat!” sticker!\n3. Get your picture on our “Challenge Survivor” wall!\n4.
