The show highlights the vitality and diversity of contemporary art being created within 150 miles of Floyd\, across all media. \nAtmospheric Enchantments and Earthly Astonishments\, Solo Exhibition by Gina Louthian-Stanley – Falcon Gallery (October 11 – November 29)\nGina Louthian-Stanley’s work captures the wonder of nature and the organic edges of the world around us. Through encaustic and cold wax mediums\, she layers color\, texture\, and light to create ethereal landscapes that evoke both enchantment and astonishment. SUMMARY:Barnes Legacy Showcase
DESCRIPTION:Troika Crafts is most fortunate to have the work of both nationally renowned woodworker\, Ed Barnes\, as well as his grandson Nicholas’ cloisonné wood vessels on showcase for the month of October.\nNicholas is a second generation wood turner\, taught by his grandfather Ed in his studio in Woolwine\, VA. For many years Troika Crafts has carried the work of Ed\, who recently announced his retirement from the craft. We will continue to carry Ed’s work while we have stock\, but come October we will be adding Nicholas’ pieces into our gallery alongside his grandfather’s vessels.\nJoin us for a reception on Friday\, October 24th from 5-7 pm to celebrate the career of Ed Barnes and his continued legacy in his grandson\, Nicholas.
