Sacred Space: Walking with the Earth Mother

May 11, 2019 : 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Description

Healing of the Appalachian Land and Her People

Please join Floyd’s community of Earth loving folks, the day before Mother’s Day, for an afternoon of Music,Yoga, Meditation, Sacred Ceremonies, Dance, Drumming and other activities that will connect our spirits with the land and Mother Earth. Featuring facilitators who are deeply grounded in this richly diverse ancient place, the Appalachian Mountains. Who will help us weave together an atmosphere of sincere intentions for bringing healing to the land and its people: of generations past, present and future.

Hosted by the Floyd EcoVillage, the space will offer activities for individual journey; an Earth Mandala, Healing Garden, Water Offerings at the creek side and more. Honoring the elements and cardinal directions, group activities will take place at various points around the EcoVillage, with the sacred water of the lake holding the gathering in our weaving. Our facilitators will bring their own gifts to the gathering, including song, story telling, dance, ceremony, native plants to heal the land, and so much more. The Earth thrives on biodiversity and so we are coming together drawing on a wide variety of traditions; Cherokee, Appalachian Mountain Woman, Rastafarian, Sufi, Christian and science. Standing in unity as one for our love of the land.

Join us on a profound journey into the Spirit of Nature; a place where healing of the land and our spirits can take place.

The day will include pre-event activities for those who desire to come and join us in yoga and, meditation as we prepare the space. We hope that you will stay for an evening of post festivities that include a drum circle, dancing, potluck dinner and community sharing.
