Morgan Wade: Meet & Greet / Performance

April 16, 2022 : 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Please join us at The Floyd Country Store for an intimate opportunity to celebrate the success of Floyd’s own Morgan Wade! The Floyd Country Store and Handmade Music School are super proud of Morgan and invited her to come back home for a special meet and greet / performance on Saturday, April 16th at 4 PM.
Morgan recently told Rolling Stone magazine that she used to “come every Friday night with her grandfather” where she would “fall asleep on his lap” at the Friday Night Jamboree. Morgan credits the Floyd Country Store’s Friday Night Jamboree as her “first live music experience, ever!” We love hearing Morgan’s stories about spending her early years here at the Store. Morgan spent many years performing at The Floyd Country Store at our American Afternoons and we are incredibly happy to see her find success with her songwriting and incredible vocals.
It has been so fun to watch Morgan Wade’s success with her new album ‘Reckless’ and we are honored and excited to present the up close and personal meet and greet with Morgan next Saturday afternoon.
County Sales will have Morgan Wade’s ‘Reckless’ on CD and LP as well as posters for getting Morgan to sign. Support Morgan, Floyd Country Store and Handmade Music School/County Sales next Saturday!
There are a very limited number of tickets so please get your tickets as soon as you can and show Morgan you appreciate her!
Here is more about Morgan Wade:
Morgan Wade didn’t write to be a sensation, for critical acclaim or massive concert tours. She wrote to speak her truth, to save her own life – and perhaps throw a rope to others struggling with the weight of a world moving too fast, loves where you fall too hard and nights that, good or bad, seem to go on forever.
2021 saw Reckless, her Thirty Tigers/now Sony Music Nashville debut, and lead single “Wilder Days” topping critical lists from Rolling Stone, TIME, Stereogum, New York Times, Boston Globe, FADER, Tennessean, Whiskey Riff, Billboard, and The Boot and Taste of Country who both proclaimed, “a once-in-a-decade debut.” With a voice that is raw hurt, deep knowing and somehow innocence retained, Wade wrote or co-wrote a song cycle about the reality facing teens and 20-somethings that embraced raw desire, the reality of getting high and getting sober, the realm of crawling through the wreckage with a tough vulnerability that is as singular as the young woman from Floyd, Virginia.
