Forest Bathing
January 19, 2021 : 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
FreeShinrin-yoku, otherwise known as forest bathing, is the practice of totally immersing yourself in nature.
We will be walking silently to allow a fuller immersion with nature while consciously using all of our senses.
The trails at the Music Center are perfect for this type of activity. We will enjoy 3 miles of hiking through forests and meadows. This walk will involve hilly single-track dirt trails. The overall average pace will be 2.5 mph (faster than a normal forest bathing hike). Sturdy, closed-toed shoes are recommended. Please bring water. Below freezing temps, snow, rain or the closing of the Blue Ridge Parkway cancels the hike. Check for updates: https://fancygaphiking.wixsite.com/visit
Before starting, you will receive some tips on how to get the most enjoyment from the activity so please try to arrive about 10-minutes early.
This event is free but registration required. To register, please contact us.
