Beginning on the Wheel with Betse Dunham

Class Description
This is a great course for beginners or anyone just getting started! In this class we will introduce techniques on how to center clay on a wheel, form a cylinder and ultimately how to make several small mugs, bowls or dishes. We will also cover trimming pieces on the wheel. At the end some pieces will be glazed and fired. The class is limited to 6 participants and must be 16 years of age or older. There must be 4 students registered to confirm. This six week wheel throwing class includes one two hour class per week. (Tuesday evenings 5-7pm)
Floyd Virginia based potter, Betse Dunham has been making functional pottery for several years. A full-time insurance agent, she started making pottery part-time by taking classes at Floyd Center for the Arts. she is a member of the Blue Ridge Potters Guild and participates in the annual pottery show in Salem, VA.
