Pumpkin Party: A Celebration of Abundance
October 27, 2018 : 3:00 pm - 6:30 pm
FreePumpkins will take center stage at this fall celebration. Families large and small are welcome to attend the first-ever Pumpkin Party at the Presbyterian Church of Floyd.
“The recent Unity in the Community event at Mt. Zion Christian Church was so inspiring,” said Jerusalem Walker, one of the Pumpkin Party coordinators. “Everyone was so welcoming, and we really enjoyed getting to know our neighbors. We hope that hosting this event will keep up the momentum for us to all come together here in Floyd.”
There will be free pumpkins to decorate, or with an adult’s help, to carve. There will be lots of fun games. The decorating and games will be from 3-5 p.m. Immediately following the games, there will be a meal of chili (one with meat, one vegan, both are gluten-free), mac-and-cheese, cornbread, and desserts. Dinner will be available till 6:30 p.m.
“In this day and time, there are so many challenges. But there is also abundance to celebrate. We have been blessed with family, neighbors, a beautiful place, rain, and so much more,” shared Lydeana Martin, also working on the event. “Please join us for this simple Celebration of Abundance.”
The Presbyterian Church of Floyd is located at 169 Newtown Rd, near Mt. Zion Christian Church, a co-host of this event. The Pumpkin Party is free, and everyone is welcome.
