Storm Water Management for Rainwater Collection, Storage, and Distribution

August 19, 2018 : 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

STORM WATER MANAGEMENT FOR RAINWATER COLLECTION, STORAGE AND DISTRIBUTION offered by Leaf Myczack

Storm water management and retention so that rain is an asset and not a liability.

Rainfall is one of the dominant forces of nature. Our very lives depend on there being enough to continually nurture the mountain bioregion we call home. Rarely do we get the ideal, long and gentle rain; oftentimes it comes down hard, fast and of gully-washing intensity.

This comprehensive Skill Share taught by farmer and former Tennessee RiverKeeper, Leaf Myczack, combines stormwater management with rainwater collection, storage and distribution. This Skill Share will be conducted at the Perma-culture demo-farm in Pilot which has a full farm, wholistic water management program in place.

Topics to be covered include:

*effectively dealing with runoff
*setting up a water use plan for wet and dry weather
*ethical considerations of capturing rainwater
*enhancing aquatic habitat using rainwater filled ponds, and wetlands
*and much, much more

Sunday August 19th @ 10 a.m to 1 p.m.
Potluck to follow Skillshare.
